Marathon For GAZA RELIEF

In the face of a deepening humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where over 10,000 lives, half of them children, have been lost, urgent cries for help echo. The need for food, water, medicine, and shelter has never been more critical. Amidst this, children bear the weight of emotional and psychological pressures, a stark consequence of the world's worsening crisis.

While I've maintained a quiet online presence, I’ve had many conversations offline regarding the 75- year ongoing conflict. These discussions have struck a deeper chord with me, particularly when reflecting on the history of Cyprus’ conflict. On January 7, 2024, I embark on the Dubai Marathon, not just as a runner but as a beacon of hope for Gaza. My mission is clear: to raise awareness and funds for those enduring the harsh effects of war.

This run is more than a marathon; it's a statement. It's about showing the people of Gaza that they are not alone. It's about reminding the people of Gaza that they are not alone, and that humanity knows no borders. I run to inspire others to take action and be part of a collective effort that can bring relief to those who need it most.

€10,600 Donated

I hope to achieve two goals: to challenge myself physically and mentally, as this will be my first time running a marathon and to support the people suffering in Gaza. I have been training hard for the past month, and I am ready to take on the 42.2 km race. I know it will not be easy, but I also know that it will be worth it.

Lastly, the only way to truly protect the people's / children’s lives and well-being is for all parties to halt this violence and do everything in their power to de-escalate the situation immediately, and to seek a lasting and sustainable peace.

All the proceeds will go directly aid the Middle East Children’s Alliance (MECA) - to deliver food and hygiene products to displaced families from Beit Lahia in the north to Rafah in the south. As well as, medical care, psychological support to kids and supplies to displaced families.

Together, let's turn every step into a stride for hope and compassion.
